 Luciano Porto - Mulambo Groove
Mini-courses on Brazilian Percussion (for adults)
These are series of 5 classes on a specific topic or instrument, taught semi-privately (6 students max). The students will explore in depth technique related to the instrument(s), drill exercises, writing notation of the music, listen to related recordings, dance steps and any other activity necessary for a complete understanding and hands-on experience of the topic being presented. These courses are appropriate for professionals as well as beginners; the size of the class allows the instructor to challenge all levels of skill.
- January 9th 2010 - Zabumba and Forró percussion
- February 13th 2010 - Caixa/ tarol (snare) from Brazil north to south
- March 20th 2010 - Pandeiro (tambourine) Brasileiro
- April 24th 2010 - Coco variations
$ 105 for a series of 5 classes

 Maninho Costa - Samba Bateria Workshops
- Mondays 8pm - 10pm. Pre-registration mandatory - check calendar for start dates.
Maninho Costa guides you through the beautiful complexities of a Samba Bateria. Working with snares, surdos, agogos, chocalho, tamborins and more. Beginers welcome, class is taught for all levels simutaneously, everyone gets a challenge!
$ 80 for a series of 4 classes (monthly). Instruments provided!
